Surgery/Laser Surgery
Surgery Laser surgery has been a technique used by our clinic since 1998. A laser beam replaces the scapel, which cauterizes the blood vessels as it is cutting to reduce blood loss, and keeps the chance of infection minimal. There is less pain associated with the laser procedure than with the standard procedures, which in declaw cases has the cat back to normal activity faster. In most elective surgeries such as spays and neuters, you have the option of the standard procedure or the laser procedure. In the event that you want your cat declawed, we only do this procedure by laser. Many other surgeries are available such as limited orthopedics, soft tissue, biopsies and others.

Most surgeries are done with the safest anesthesia currently on the market, Sevoflurane. This anesthesia gives a high level of control with adjustment for debilitated and geriatric pets. When the anesthesia is turned off, the anesthesia is eliminated quickly and the animal recovers faster with less side effects.

All surgical patients should be dropped off by 5:45 pm the day before scheduled surgery. Patients can be picked up the day following surgery unless notified otherwise by our front office staff. Surgery deposit is required at time of drop off.
