Dr. HorstDr. Roger A. Horst
Dr Horst has been a private practitioner since 1981 in the Mercersburg area. A 1979 graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Science and a 1981 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is married to Susan and is the father of four sons, Taylor, Evan, Miles and Graham. In his spare time, Dr. Horst enjoys gardening, woodworking, traveling and spending time with his family.

Meet the Staff. . .

VickieVickie, Receptionist
Vickie joined our staff in September 2008. She attended Salem College and the United Career Center in Clarksburg, WV focusing on Business and Office. You will find Vickie greeting clients and scheduling appointments. In addition to working at the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, daughter Jamie, her grandchildren, and her 3 cats, Sasha, Xena, and Lexi. Vickie also enjoys swimming, horseback riding, visiting Ocean City and Deep Creek and relaxing on the backyard patio.

SusanSusan, Business Manager
After being on the sidelines for twenty four years, as wife of a veterinarian, Susan decided to join the clinic team to assist in the Business office of the clinic. She handles Accounts payable, Accounts receiveable, payroll, advertising, client education literature, etc.

PaulaPaula, Veterinary Technician
Paula joined our staff in September 2000 as a Veterinary Assistant. After a few years she decided to further her studies to obtain an Associates of Science degree in Veterinary Medical Technology from Wilson College. She can be found throughout the clinic answering phones, assisting the doctor, running tests in the lab, or educating clients regarding pet care. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. Paula also enjoys playing with her two Newfoundland dogs, Babe and Shadow, and her English bulldog, Morgan.
AubreyAubrey, Veterinary Technician
Aubrey joined our staff in June 2002 following her graduation from Wilson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. A compassionate animal lover, Aubrey has a variety of animals at home; 2 pygmy goats, Poncho and Lefty, a mixed breed dog, Bullwinkle, a Great Dane, Merle, and a Belgian horse, Prince. Aubrey handles inventory control for medical supplies and drugs, assists the doctor in surgeries and general exams, and can even be found out on the farm assisting with blood testing, and more complicated procedures.
LisaLisa, Receptionist
Lisa joined our staff in August 2008. She attended Shippensburg University and Hagerstown Junior College with Associate degree in Administration of Justice. Lisa also attended Penn State University with a Bachelor degree in Business. She also has college level classes in business management and anatomy. Lisa is currently studying for the National Board Certification for Pharmacy Technician. Lisa is part of our front office staff greeting and assisting clients in scheduling, etc. When Lisa is not at work interacting with the clients and pets she is spending time with her husband, Doug and son, Connor.
NicoleNicole, Groomer/Veterinary Assistant
Nicole rejoined our staff in May 2007 as a Groomer and Veterinary Assistant. Nicole provides dog and cat grooming to our clients as well as assists the doctor in exam rooms. A graduate of James Buchanan High School, Nicole was quite active in 4-H and Conococheaque FFA chapter. She has competed at both State and National levels in horse judging competition. At Nationals she placed silver individually and Bronze in team judging. She is currently a leader at the Horses R Us club in Greencastle. At home, Nicole cares for an Appaloosa mare, a quarter horse, two cats and a golden retriever, Phoebe.
