The Mercersburg Veterinary Clinic, Inc. was established in 1983 by Drs. David A. Burrows and Roger A. Horst as Burrows and Horst Veterinary Services on Oakwood Drive, Mercersburg, PA. The practice was mainly a bovine practice specializing in Dairy Production Medicine. The practice operated out of Dr. Burrows home for 14 years before moving to 218 North Main Street in October of 1997. Because of this move, the practice began offering more services for companion animals. This resulted in a period of rapid growth and increase in support staff. It was at this time that the practice changed its name to the Mercersburg Veterinary Clinic. On December 31, 1999, Dr. Burrows retired from practice. Dr. Horst took over the practice and operated as a sole practitioner for 2 years. On January 1, 2002, the practice became an S-corporation hence the current name Mercersburg Veterinary Clinic, Inc.
