Dr. David Burrows and Dr. Roger Horst originally established our clinic in 1983 as Burrows & Horst Veterinary Services. The practice was mainly a bovine practice specializing in Dairy Production medicine. The practice operated out of the home of Dr. Burrows for 14 years until moving to 218 North Main Street in October 1997.

Because of this move the practice began to offer additional companion animal services. This resulted in a period of rapid growth and an increase in support staff. It was at this time that the practice changed its name to the Mercersburg Veterinary Clinic. On December 31, 1999, Dr. Burrows retired from the practice after 30+ years of practicing Veterinary Medicine in Mercersburg, and Dr. Horst took over the practice and now operates as a sole practitioner. On September 1, 2006, Dr. Horst retired from dairy production medicine in order to focus more on companion animal medicine.
